Going up against a Tennessee team that beat both Kentucky and Kansas during the regular season, the SDSU basketball team made it exciting but eventually lost by 3 points in the first round of the Men's NCAA Tournament. The Volunteers hit some big shots down the stretch and beat SDSU 62-59. SDSU had a chance to tie in the final seconds, but missed.
Regardless, the Aztecs made every effort to win their first NCAA tournament game ever. The season ends with a Mountain West Championship and a lot of hope for next year.
