Victoria Hoe (SMBA '11) on last night's upset at the Mercury Insurance Open that saw 18-year old American qualifier Coco Vandeweghe oust world #9 Vera Zvonareva:"It's a major victory for the tournament here in San Diego, as Vandeweghe is a Southern California native and carries a lot of local notoriety. Coco comes from a sports family as her uncle, Kiki Vandeweghe, is a former NBA player, coach, and GM."
Some members of the SMBA '11 class are volunteering for the Mercury Insurance Open this week, while others are up in Huntington Beach for the 2010 US Open of Surfing.
